Myra personally has been a top 300 broker in the greater Albuquerque area.

Myra and her husband, Tim, have purchased, developed, and sold major subdivisions in the Edgewood and Moriarty area. Myra acquired a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Texas. She was a school teacher in the Estancia Municipal School District for 6 years and owned her own fitness business for 20 years. She is an experienced business woman, has an eye for style and design. Her varied experience and skills coupled with her gift for service make her uniquely qualified to serve as Chairwoman of a resurgant Democratic Party of Torrance County.

Vice Chair & Treasurer Bill Peifer

Elected as Vice Chair in October of 2023 to fill a vacancy at the Vice Chair position, and re-elected to that position (as well as reappointed as Treasurer) in 2025, Bill's political background goes back to 1968, when he was a staff member on Bobby Kennedy's all-too-short presidential campaign in Pennsylvania. A Vietnam-Era Veteran of the U.S. Army, Bill is a retired Computer Consultant with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Delaware Valley University and graduate-level Political Science courses from the University of New Mexico.

In Bernalillo County Bill served as a Ward Chair, County Rules Committee Chair, DPBC Database Administrator, Webmaster and County Chair. He was the incumbent County Chair in 2018, when Democrats "flipped" seven of the nine NM House District seats that had been held by Republicans for decades, along with the previously "very red" County Commission seat for the district that includes the East Mountains.

Bill was also active in the Democratic Party at the state level, where he served on the Rules Committee for 14 years, with two 2-year terms as that committee's Vice Chair and one term as Rules Committee Chairman.

   Millie

Millie and her husband Bill (see " Vice Chair & Treasurer" above) moved to the Echo Ridge Road area just southeast of Moriarty from Sandia Knolls in northeast Bernalillo County in 2021, when they both immediately got involved in the Democratic Party of Torrance County.

Prior to moving to Torrance County Millie had served for 10 years as the Secretary of the Democratic Party of Bernalillo County, for two years as Chair of the DPBC Planning & Logistics Committee, for two years as CD1 Female Vice Chair of the Democratic Party of New Mexico and was one of the founding members of the East Mountain Democrats, Exurban, Rural and Ranchers Caucus.

She is a long-time resident of New Mexico, having graduated from the "old" Albuquerque High School in 1972. She and Bill have four surviving children and several grandchildren, all living in Bernalillo County.
